We have this insane idea when we start taking photos that to be successful, and to build a proper reputation as a photographer, we need to have the best of the best.

The best cameras, the best studio equipment, the best laptop, and… well you get the idea

Here’s the kicker, it’s not the gear or the software that makes a good photographer… it’s the photographer themselves! (#duh, right?)

Good photographers can pick up virtually any camera and take good shots. Why? Because it’s the fundamentals that matter; knowing how to compose a shot, control the light, and how to properly adjust your settings.

Now, if you are an aspiring photographer, or even are a seasoned photographer, understanding and being able to use what you have is key.

Now, I recently found myself in a rut. I was not feeling creative and was judging myself and my work. I had to remind myself that where I am, what I use, and how I use it is already fan-freaking-tastic.

I know how to take photos damn it! So I did a little shoot… in my shower.

Yes, fully dressed in a very basic shower, with my Olympus camera on a busted-ass tripod with one broken leg; I started shooting.

And guess what. It was fun, it was creative, and I am obsessed with the shots.

Quite literally a very “Vogue mood” and I am here for it.

You can literally be anywhere, do anything, and still take great shots. REMEMBER THAT. Not only will it make you a better and more confident photographer, but you’ll also gain experience to “wing it” and still flow with your photography style.

Work with your environment and go against the stream a little. Try something new out and have FUN with your photos. That’s why you picked up a camera in the first place, isn’t it?
